How often are you about to start your favorite adventure and you need to hit the restroom? Help Wild Trails build 5 compost toilets at various trail heads where there is either no toilet of any kind or an old out-of-date out-house that not only smells horrible, but is a vector for pathogens, rats and other unwelcome by-products. Composting Toilets have been in use for a very long time but have just recently been accepted in this country for commercial use. The concept is simple, composting toilets use the same three elements that a typical backyard garden compost bin uses...heat, moisture and air. This creates the environment to allow the micro organisms, bacteria and fungi to work their magic. This process breaks down the waist effectively and here is a surprising benefit, it is basically odor free. Help us raise $25,000 to build 5 new, efficient, environmentally friendly composting toilets.
