Help us finish paying off our loan on the Denny Cove Acquisition. The acquisition of Denny Cove in 2016 continues to be one of our greatest conservation achievements. 685 acres of acquired land protected critical habitat in the Fiery Gizzard area of the Southern Cumberland Plateau. SCC worked with several conservation organizations to acquire this property which was eventually transferred to the State of Tennessee for public management as part of the South Cumberland State Park. We continue to help steward the park resources with annual Trail Days and clean up efforts. Denny Cove hosts over 150 sport climbing routes of various difficulties and miles of hiking trails with beautiful vistas and waterfalls. Through acquisitions and stewardship, we work to protect areas that provide opportunity for rock climbing and bouldering for public access in perpetuity. Since our inception in 1993, the SCC has placed roughly 760 acres into conservation over Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama in addition to work with neighboring LCO’s on projects in Kentucky and the Carolinas. Currently, SCC works with over 30 public land managers to develop and maintain climbing management plans and secured access to climbing. These efforts have also led to the protection of other forms of recreation as well as critical habitats, watersheds, and threatened and endangered species. Help us finalize this loan payoff!
